What to Expect
This daytime celebration will provide fun for the whole family, and some of your favorite Audubon Zoo animals, too – ensuring your experience is full of spooktacular memories! To add to the excitement, guests are invited to dress in their Halloween best! Don’t forget to wear your favorite costume as you partake in the festivities! 

How do I get tickets?
Guests are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance for a specific date, as the event is likely to sell-out. 

What do I do when I get there?
Have your tickets ready for scanning upon arrival. Each guest age 2 and older should have a ticket for entry.

Am I allowed to bring in food and/or beverages?
Outside food and drinks are allowed into the Zoo. Suitcases, backpacks, or coolers (with or without wheels) must not be larger than 28-quart size. One per family. Audubon reserves the right to search coolers and backpacks. Halloween-themed food and beverages, including child-friendly and adult-friendly, will also be available for purchase.

Can I bring a wagon or stroller?
Yes. Wagons, strollers, and wheelchairs are welcome. Guest are encouraged to bring their own.

Are wheelchairs and strollers available for rent?
Yes, a limited number of wheelchairs and strollers are available for rent daily.

Do Audubon Members receive a discount on tickets?
Tickets for Members are available at a special Member price: $8 for kids ages 12 and below, and $5 for those over age 12. 

Before You Arrive

All guests are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance online for the specific date you plan to attend. Each guest age 2 and up should have a ticket for entry to Boo at the Zoo. Member tickets are available for $8 for kids and $5 for adults. Non-member tickets are $30. Entry for kids age 12 and under includes a trick or treat bag and wrist band which provides access to Boo at the Zoo activities located throughout the Zoo, including trick or treating areas, our maze, haunted house, and more. 


Parking

Parking is available in front of the Zoo, on Magazine Street (both sides), and on the Audubon Park Riverview. To protect the trees in front of the Zoo and ensure that you will be able to safely exit your parking place, please follow all posted parking guidelines/barriers and parking instructions from Zoo security staff.


About the Experience

  • Boo at the Zoo is a family friendly Halloween celebration held October 21-23 during normal Zoo hours, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. 
  • Members and Non-Members over age 2 are required to purchase a ticket for entry. 
  • Advanced ticket purchase is highly recommended as the event is likely to sell out each day. 
  • Boo at the Zoo will be held rain or shine.

Boo in a bag! We’ve taken all of the treat stations and combined them into one pre-packaged bag. The festive, pumpkin-shaped bag will be stuffed with candy, snacks, a face mask, and special treats for only $10. Your purchase of a Trick or Treat bag directly supports the children receiving care at Children’s Hospital New Orleans. 

A limited number of bags will be sold each day and must be purchased in advance. Your purchase of a Trick or Treat bag is not a ticket for entrance to Audubon Zoo. Tickets must be purchased or reserved separately.

Don’t miss the chance to take home a photo of your family enjoying Peek-a-Boo at the Zoo! Photos will be taken in front of a festive Halloween display and should be purchased in advance of your visit. Don’t forget to wear your costume! Souvenir photos must be purchased in advance. Your purchase of a Trick or Treat bag directly supports the children receiving care at Children’s Hospital New Orleans. 

Your purchase of a Souvenir Photo package is not a ticket for entrance to Audubon Zoo. Tickets must be purchased or reserved separately.

Families can join the fun at the Zoo and help save species from home by building their own backyard bat house! Bats are an important part of a functioning ecosystem. Making a bat-friendly place in a backyard supports the essential role bats have in the environment.

SPOOKY FAMILY FUN AT AUDUBON ZOO

Peek-a-Boo at the Zoo presented by Chick-fil-A New Orleans activities have been adjusted to meet all State of Louisiana COVID safety guidelines. Proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test is not required to visit Audubon Zoo. Per City of New Orleans mandates, however, proof of vaccination or a negative 72-hour PCR COVID-19 test and masks are required to enter any indoor facilities at the Zoo.

KIDS 12 AND UNDER
Trick or treating will be available for little ghosts and goblins Friday – Sunday. Children can expect to visit treat stations located throughout the zoo to collect candy made with sustainable palm oil and other treats. Please note, trick or treating is reserved for children ages 12 and under.
